November Bullet Journal

is this going to be a monthly thing?? i sure hope not.

I honestly wasn’t sure i’d even get to drawing these spreads out properly this month, with kingdom of ash out and all.

turns out i’m more scared of the series ending than stumbling upon spoilers (that’s an exaggeration, KEEP SPOILERS AWAY FROM ME) that’s why i spent like 3 hours of precious reading time drawing these spreads

i know, yikes.

anyways, excuse the lighting. it was dark and i was relying on a lamp and my awful editing skills

(click here to see my spreads for October’s Bullet Journal)

~ i get the majority of my spread ideas from different artists on pinterest and some are just like a hybrid of two really cute spreads ~

you can barely see the little stick that says November, but i assure you, it is there. i thought this was a REALLY cute fall theme so yeah

October Bullet Journal!! + Month-Long-Read-a-thon + Inktober Starting!!

i dont even know why im doing this, maybe this is like some deep form of self-betrayal.  probably.

anyways, ive been jumping on the bandwagon of bullet journaling since like,,,,,,june of 2018 and yeah, no chance youre gonna see that (the first one is always horrendous)

BUT I’VE KIND OF GOT THE HANG OF WHICH SPREADS I LIKE and which spreads dont work with me and which spreads make me excited to bullet journal, so we’re progressing

it always takes forever but that totally works in my favour bc i get to audiobook while i plan and sketch and draw 💁

excuse my lousy attempt at being aesthetic and my photography skills bc theyre really lacking, i know

~ i get the majority of my spread ideas from different artists on pinterest and some are just like a hybrid of two really cute spreads ~

Bujo #1

the cover is pretty straight forward, just like, october but with flowers (the cursive takes FOREVER to get right, but hey not bad right?)

Contemporary-A-Thon TBR

monthly tbr finalI’M SUPER EXCITED for the start of the Contemporary-A-Thon bc not only do i adore contemps and get to participate in another readathon with so many other lovely readers, but i also get another reason to lock myself in my room and read for 12 hours straight. :’)

if you are unaware, the contemporary-a-thon takes place between the 17th of sept. till the 23rd from you time midnight till the next week, midnight.

Here’s the original video by the lovely host herself and she gives more details about the readathon in the vid.

I know we’re allowed to double up on challenges and im not entirely ruling that out for myself but since i am presumptuous/ambitious goose i’m going to aim for 7 individual books rather than completing all 7 challenges collectively

but again, we’ll see how it goes, like say if i have an existential crisis and get the spontaneous urge to repaint the walls of my bedroom, then im gonna be forced to double up on challenges.

November TBR – 2017

monthly tbr final

November is here?? This is madness, one more month away from 2018 im SHOOK. So, you probably know by now that I’m going to be participating (or trying at least) in NaNoWriMo and while it shouldn’t impact my reading schedule too much, I still wanna take it easy and not make it too hard on myself so i’m littering this TBR with graphic novels (i deserve this after 170 long as heck books).

why can’t we count our own books into our reading challenge???

  1. Renegadesrenegades-marissa-meyer-cover
  2. Starfish

Okay, so all of friends have been RAVING about this book and basically if it doesn’t blow me away im going to be a very sad bunny. Also Fake May says the rep is 11/10arrow

October TBR – 2017

This is mad. It’s October already and I feel like we’re not even supposed to be mid-way through April. Why is time moving so fast and how can i stop it???

Anyone else excited for hot chocolate, hoodie wearing, book reading weather???

September had some CRAZY new releases and it was so difficult to keep up with them, so obvs they spilled over into this month, but i’m trying my best here okay, cut me some slack.

  1. Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff

23264671So, I was supposed to read Godsgrave last month, but I’m a rebel so I decided to put it off a month not really, i just wasn’t feeling it and i heard a semi-spoiler that had me reals pissed but apparently it’ll all make “sense” if i read it

2. Wonder Woman by Leigh Bardugo

I feel like such a fake for having this on my october tbr when it came out in september but I REALLY tried hard to read it, i was just going through that weird slump thingy and so i put it on hold. but my girls and i are planning on doing this soon, so hopefully peer pressure will help me finish this one

August TBR – 2017

monthly tbr

WE’RE nearing the end of summer, thank goodness. Should be about one more month to go before the heat gets its unwanted butt out of here (hopefully). Idk if it’s just me, but when the weather gets to that sticky, gross, humid state, I find it sooo hard to read. Anyone else??

So, August.

I was actually really surprised when I was making this list to see that I have a few featured rereads. If you know anything about me, it’s usually that I’m all NO REREADS
and only bc I feel like there are SO MANY books out there and I ain’t got time to read them all along with rereading some favs. . . but look at me, being inconsistent once again.

  1. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas17167166
#1 reread of the month. I’m actually currently reading this right now with a friend and I’m actually enjoying it more than I thought I would (i was POSITIVE that I would trash it but thank goodness for small mercies)

2. Furthermore by Tahereh MafiFurthermore-Cover-GalleyCat
This is one of those books that I’ve been saying I would read forever and it’s so sad that it’s taken me approximately 15 years before I made good on that promise.
Also, I love the idea!!

July TBR – 2017

monthly tbr

We’re back for the never-really-happens-TBR!!! While June was a pretty hectic month, I have very very large plans for July, but I’m trying to restrain myself to only 10 books for this list.

Quick question before we get started, I was looking through my read shelf and noticed that I’m reading like 95% fantasy and like 5% contemporary and like that’s just rood on many accounts so, if anyone has any rocking contemporary recommendations, I would VERY much appreciate it.

Moving on to the TBR,

  1. Letters to the Lost by Brigid Kemmerer30038855

I heard this one ruins your soul :)) i’m there.

2. Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge15839984

There seems to be quite a few Beauty and the Beast retellings lately and I’ve heard mixed reviews about this one, but, gotta try.

3. One of Us is Lying by Karen McManns

*cough* was this book on my June TBR???? Really??? You don’t say.

The sun is shining, the heat is setting in, and my inability to function ((in this weather)) is just growing. But ain’t nothing like a good book and some cold lemonade to help out in ANY situation. And while I don’t have any lemonade on me at this very moment, I do have a never-ending TBR that I want to share so let’s get right onto itttt!

1. The Book Jumper by Mechthild Glaser

The concept sounds so bloody awesome and I’ve though I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews, I’m trying to stay optimistic here. 😀

2. The Whispering Skull (Lockwood and Co. #2) by Jonathan Stroud

I adored the first book in these creepy yet thrilling series and I’m really looking forward to what else it has to offer.

3. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

Yet another book was many many manyyy mixed reviews. I hear this one starts of v slow but builds throughout the series. I just think I’m slightly bewitched by that absolutely gorgeous cover.

May TBR – 2017

monthly tbr final

I don’t want to get too presumptuous here ((bc we all know I’m just going to be setting myself up for failure)) but for now I’m going to stick to 10 books that I HOPE to read during the month of May and see how it goes from there.

So let’s gooooo. . .

  1. A Court of Wing and Ruin by Sarah J Maas

a court of wings and ruin

So I already read this but hey, this TBR is late, let me count this. 😂

2. A Little Something Different by Sandy Hall

a little something different

Once again, I’ve already read this. 😂

3. Froi of the Exiles by Melina Marchetta

froi of the exiles

I’m so pumped for this one bc Melina Marchetta is one of my FAVOURITE authors and I absolutely LOVED the first book in this series.
