Developments in Writing Part 3: In Which we Look at Aesthetics and Don’t Write At All

Check out part 1 and part 2 of Developments in Writing (if you want) they both basically blabbing fests (like this)

So I spent more time looking and pinning beautiful, aesthetic pictures on Pinterest than actually writing, which is like a totally normal thing to do as a writer (I know this bc I’m a verified writer okay, put those eyes of judgement away)

This literally took we 20 hours to make, so please be kind and praise my hardwork, thanks, appreciate ya!

(also, i was inspired by this idea from a lovely lady who is also an aspiring author so go check out her wonderful blog)

sn1 actualAll the semantics with the borders and sizing and position of the images can bloody choke, i don’t deserve this kind of torture. Also none of the pictures belong to me.

As you can clearly see in my edit, wow, i’m literally making fan art for my own story, we’re hitting an all-time low here it’s set in the middle east, horsies are involved, and tea makes an appearance (bc duh, ain’t no book good without some tea). Oh and there are characters or something, no promises on that.

Now actual updates on the writing thingy, , ,

flower1I’ve reached 45,000 for this week (2000+ from last week, looks like we’re making this a thing)

flower1i spend more time writing cute, cheesy, puke-inducing oneshots of my *~main ship~* than I do for the actual story not sure if they will ever make the cut for the book, but who really knows

flower1i think about v dramatic scenes while doing the dishes (it’s v relaxing and it helps washing go faster)

flower1i’ve found that when i transfer my writing from my notebook into my document, i’m editing while i type it out and ??!??! is it possible??!! i’m being productive ??!!? i’m actually making progress ??!!?? who am i?

But no one actually wants to hear about my non-development, I know y’all are only here for my salt and sarcasm. And we must give the people what they want so, below, I have catalogued a step-by-step guide to making a Beautiful-Aesthetic-Board-for-your-Wipβ„’ like mine πŸ™‚

terms and conditions may apply

flower2first off download this damn app called PicsArt bc if you were anything like me, you WOULD HAVE THOUGHT PEOPLE MADE THESE THINGS ON MS PAINT BUT THEY IN FACT DO NOT (i learned the hard way)

flower2now open Pinterest and try, try, TRY to be objective. i know you’re gonna be looking all over and pressing at random things but DONT, we have a mission to complete here

flower2search them pretty pictures and save them to a folder called ‘look at me actually be productive’

flower2yeah right, i know you’re not saving pictures and you’re actually lost in the void that is Pinterest

flower2its okay, just accept that this is who you are. acceptance is the first step to change.

flower2now pull our your wallet and find some graphic designer student on the street and pay them the $$$ to make you a real aesthetic board

flower2there you go! : ) your board is now complete! good job!!1!

Okay but for reals, if anyone has tips to making creative little design stuff, y’all can let us know and teach us your sorcery bc we NEED you!!

But that’s all I got for this week, hopefully next week will be better πŸ™‚ we can only hope.

Have a great weekend guys,

Congratulations on ALL THE WORDS, wow, you are doing awesome – and able to write so many words at a time, and edit while you type out the word on your computer screen, from your notebook. 1. literally the only productive thing I do in regards of my book is to scroll through pinterest to get inspirations, so it’ll take me a decade to actually get to writing it

  2. This is really beautiful. Reminds me of Rebel of The Sands for some reason. But I am really excited to read your book because that guy is hot and I have a thing for hot men that look like they rugged Middle Eastern/South Asian Princes.

  3. I totally did NOT get lost in the void that is Pinterest this week…and I DEFINITELY wrote something other than more plot bunnies…
I love your aesthetic! It’s absolutely gorgeous. For mine, I usually stick to a color theme and add stuff sort of relevant to the story. That’s all I’be Got!

  5. May, why are you so adorable?! But for real, I totally dig the aesthetics you have going on. Your book sounds like it is going to be awesome! Also, good job on getting more writing done. Am hecking proud.

I may or may not have started jotting down a random story I’ve had in my head for a few days. I haven’t decided if I want to put it on here or not yet. It’s still pretty rough!

I am heckin’ proud of you, May. Keep up the excellent work, my dear!
